Aligarh Muslim University

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), located in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India, is a collegiate, central, and research university with a rich history dating back to 1875 when it was established as the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. It officially became Aligarh Muslim University in 1920. The university is recognized as an Institute of National Importance and offers over 300 courses across various traditional and modern disciplines.

Aligarh itself is known for its historical sites, including the Aligarh Fort, and its lock-making industry.

AMU has a dedicated Training and Placement Office that assists students with placements and internships. The university has a strong placement record, with B.Tech and MBA programs reporting placement rates of 82% and 84% respectively in 2023.
